CCF Tea

The three-seed digestive trio — cumin, coriander, and fennel in equal measure — brewed as a daily belly-and-bloat tea and a gentle detox water.

Why it is ours

CCF tea is the diaspora-wellness adoption of a digestive ritual, recommended in gut-health and detox circles. For Black Americans dealing with the bloat and sluggishness of a heavy, salt-rich diet, it is an easy, cheap daily sipper made from spices already on the shelf.

What it does

CCF tea combines three carminative seeds whose volatile oils each relax the gut and stimulate digestive enzymes. Cumin's cuminaldehyde and thymol stimulate bile and pancreatic enzyme output, improving fat and protein digestion; coriander's linalool is antispasmodic and mildly diuretic, easing bloating and water retention; fennel's anethole relaxes gut muscle and relieves gas. Together they form a gentle, daily digestive tonic with mild diuretic action — the traditional 'reset' tea sipped through the day to settle a heavy or sluggish gut.

How it is cooked

Use half a teaspoon each of cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds. Lightly crush, then simmer in 4 cups of water for 5-10 minutes, or steep in a thermos and sip warm throughout the day. Strain. Caffeine-free.
