Manuka Honey

Honey with uniquely high methylglyoxal (MGO) content — an antimicrobial compound documented in clinical trials for wound healing, H. pylori eradication, SIBO treatment, and oral health. Why it is ours

African honey tradition — 40,000 years of documented honey medicine across the African continent. San people rock art shows honey harvesting; Egyptian papyri document wound honey treatment. Manuka honey is the clinically-validated descendant of that ancestral wisdom.

What it does

Manuka honey is FDA-cleared for wound healing and has clinical evidence for H. pylori eradication, MRSA wound management, and SIBO improvement. H. pylori infection is more prevalent in Black Americans than the general population — manuka honey provides a food-based adjunct to antibiotic therapy or a prevention protocol. The prebiotics in honey feed Bifidobacterium selectively.

How it is cooked

Look for UMF 10+ or MGO 250+ on the label — lower ratings have minimal therapeutic effect beyond regular honey. Take 1 tsp directly (don't mix in hot liquids over 140°F — destroys MGO). Available at health food stores and online. Expensive ($20-50/jar) but small amounts are effective.
