Why it is ours

Sea moss is deeply embedded in Caribbean Black American health culture. Dr. Sebi popularized it; Caribbean grandmothers used it for centuries as a strength and fertility food. It is the most discussed herbal supplement in Black wellness communities today.

What it does

Sea moss carrageenan is a complex polysaccharide that acts as a prebiotic, feeding beneficial gut bacteria and supporting intestinal mucus production. Iodine content (variable: 47-182mcg per gram) directly supports thyroid hormone synthesis — hypothyroidism is significantly underdiagnosed in Black women. Collagen precursor amino acids support joint and skin health. The mineral density is real. Important caveat: excessive iodine can trigger thyroid dysfunction — moderation is essential.

How it is cooked

Soak dried sea moss 4-8 hours in clean water, blend smooth with fresh water. Store gel refrigerated up to 3 weeks. Add 1-2 tablespoons to smoothies, oatmeal, soups, or teas. Do not use high-heat cooking.
