Why it is ours

Available at African and West African grocery stores in most major US cities.

What it does

Egusi directly addresses the 75% magnesium deficiency rate in Black Americans. Zinc supports immune function. Traditional egusi soup with bitter leaf creates a complete mineral-protein meal.

How it is cooked

Dry-toast seeds and grind, or buy pre-ground egusi powder from African grocery stores. Fry with onions and tomatoes as a soup base. Add bitter leaf or spinach, protein, and broth.
